The KAIST Humanoid v0.7 is an advanced academic research platform developed by South Korea’s KAIST DRCD Laboratory to demonstrate high-speed locomotion and dynamic agility in bipedal systems. Featuring custom quasi-direct drive actuators capable of producing up to 320 N·m of peak torque, v0.7 achieves impressive running speeds of 12 to 13 km/h and can clear obstacles over 30 cm high. Driven by deep reinforcement learning combined with blind proprioceptive feedback, the robot maintains balance across complex, uneven terrains without visual input. The platform stands as one of the most mechanically efficient and dynamic university-led bipedal projects in the global physical AI landscape.
