The Phantom MK1, developed by San Francisco-based Foundation Robotics, is a ruggedized, dual-use humanoid robot engineered for high-stakes environments in manufacturing, logistics, and defense. Standing 175 cm tall and weighing 80 kg, the MK1 is built with titanium structural components and high-torque cycloidal actuators capable of delivering 160 N·m of peak force while remaining human-safe through back-drivable compliance. Driven by the Cortex physics-action model, the robot features unique tendon-driven hands for human-like dexterity and a “fleet coherence” software stack that allows multiple units to share a real-world data flywheel for autonomous task allocation.
